My 101 guide to hormone health - the beginning

It's been a while! Life is chaotic and busy but today marks a special day. Something I am slightly excited, slightly nervous to start.

Today marks day 1 of my journey to understanding and completely transforming my hormone health. Maybe I am completely health crazy, or maybe just crazy, but I am going to try and create a protocol/routine/whatever else you would call it to better regulate the hormones of women suffering from a rathke cleft cyst, like me. And actually maybe this can one day help anyone with a hormonal imbalance who has no idea where to start.

Since the age of 12 I have suffered in silence with my hormones being told that it was normal or I "might have PCOS" but nothing can be done. In 2022 after 2 years of constant hormonal problems I got a blood panel done which ultimately led me to discover a cyst on my pituitary gland in my brain. This tiny thing was heavily impacting my hormones in a very negative way due to it's own production of prolactin.

After being offered some very lovely but very heavily side effect ridden tablets I decided to do my own research in to natural ways to regulate my system. That was when ice baths where beginning to trend and I thought why not try it since it had come across various claims of them naturally increasing dopamine levels (something I had learnt was a stopping agent of prolactin).

From the first snowy day in January 2023 all the way through to December 2023 I had been loving them and being so consistent, only missing the odd day here and there. My hormones transformed, irregular cycles where a thing of the past. PMS was almost non existent. My periods where light, predictable and 3-5 days long. My moods where regular and my energy improved.

Fast forward to now, I haven't done them in 5 months. I have had hormone problems for the last 5 months, with them getting worse each month. My skin is broken out, my energy is low, my moods are like a whirlwind, my skin is breaking out in rashes left, right and centre, my psoriasis and dermatitis are inflamed, my whole body is inflamed and holding water and my cycle symptoms are exaggerated completely. It is like my menstrual time and ovulation time has swapped and I feel absolutely rock bottom when ovulating.

So today is the first day of doing them again and this time I am recording everything! Hopefully I can create something that can not only be recommended to people like me but it can also be adapted to provide guidance for all women looking to heal hormonal imbalances.

I am sure it's going to be raw and challenging but hopefully I can heal my own body and help others in the process!

I will see you soon for another update!
