In todays fast paced society it can be so easy to forget to look after ourselves and to prioritise our needs. With the list of all sorts of commitments never ending and sometimes feeling like we need to live up to others expectation of us. prioritising ourselves will elevate our mental and physical health. so lets leave this in 2023. Try these 3 tips below to get you started on this journey to self love.



1) You are what you consume.

And no, this isn't solely the food we eat. It is the things we watch, listen to, read, expose our selves to and the people we surround ourselves with. Pay attention to the things you see, do and be apart of everyday as these things big or small play a big part in our day to day actions and beliefs. When you start paying attention to these things and become self aware it is important to set boundaries as this ensures we prioritise ourselves.

2) Make time for self care regularly.

Self care is different from person to person but it is the things you do that bring you relaxation, peace and help you to reset. Sometimes these things are easy, requiring no effort at all like maybe curling up and watching you favourite show or maybe it is lighting a few candles, playing your favourite music and laying in the bath. But sometimes they can be hard and require will power like going to the gym even though you really don’t feel like it or looking through your finances. No matter what your self care practice look like, try adding it into your weekly routine so that you are regularly filling your own cup.

3) Self discipline is self love.

You know those things that we promise ourselves we will do but then we don’t because something else comes up or when don’t feel like it? This is actually an absence of self love. If you told someone else you where going to be there or do something for them you would because you care for them so why do we do this to ourselves? We say these things to ourselves because we know they are good for us and are in alignment with our goals. So 2024 is the year that we follow through with the things we say we will do for ourselves because this is self love.
